Above is an unedited image from a recent headshot session this week.I shot this with my Sony a7III in studio under studio lighting in a controlled environment. With Sony’s release of the new A7RiV and a whopping 61mp, I have to ask you the question that I ask myself all the time. Is that enough? Enough Information? Enough file size to work with? Will it ever be enough?
Sony Owns the Mirrorless Photography and Videography world for the near future, the recent offerings by Nikon and Canon are sad at best. SO what is Sony doing that is creating such a buzz? Why ar they so successful?
First off, they are listening to Photographers and Videographers and they are responding to the new demands that they are facing. This has always been and always will be the hallmark of a growing and successful company.
Listen to what “your people” want!
We want lighter and faster cameras, Sony listened and delivered. We want killer lenses, Sony and now Sigma are crushing the competition with new lenses every few months. A.I. Assist with eye and facial tracking is going to a new level thanks to Sonys pushing the limits with their new sensors.
Below is an edited version of the same photo above.
Here is the edited version of the same photo. Thanks to Lightroom CC this is a pretty simple task but I spend most of the time in editing erasing information instead of enhancing it. All those precious details in the skin and shadows are more pleasing looking when they are smooth and clean looking, at least that’s what most people want to see.
Teeth are whitened, eyes are brightened and the skin is given a little boost but everything else is smoothed out and “improved”.
SO what are your thoughts? I’d love to hear them. Are you excited about the New Sony A7R4? Will you buy it? Will you finally switch from the lagging Nikon and Canon brands? What questions do you have about this new camera and what is on your wish list fro your next camera?
If you are brave enough o reply, please include a little info about yourself, such as, your level of use and expertise. What are you currently shooting and are you a Photographer, Videographer or other?
